Support Beyond Therapy
Support Beyond Therapy
Our consultations are designed to help you make sense of concerns, recommendations, or diagnoses and figure out the best path forward for your child or student.
We commonly support families and teachers when:
A child has just received a diagnosis
A parent has been told their child “needs OT” and isn’t sure what that really means
You’re unsure whether to pursue therapy, school supports, private services, or a combination
You want help understanding evaluations, reports, or recommendations
You’re looking for practical strategies to support regulation, attention, behavior, or daily routines
These consultations focus on education, problem-solving, and planning, so you leave with clarity, direction, and next steps.
Parent coaching provides ongoing support for caregivers who want help navigating day-to-day challenges while building confidence in how they support their child.
This service is appropriate for:
Parents of children with or without diagnoses
Families feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to respond to behaviors
Parents who want guidance grounded in child development and occupational therapy principles
Coaching is collaborative, non-judgmental, and focused on what works for your child and family. Our goal is to help you parent in alignment with your values.
We offer personalized sensory space design for homes, classrooms, and learning environments.
This service helps:
Create calming or regulating spaces tailored to a child’s sensory needs
Improve attention, regulation, and participation
Make environments more supportive without being overwhelming or overly clinical
Designs are practical, realistic, and customized. We can help whether you need a quiet corner, movement space, or full sensory setup.
FAQ about support options
Consultations and coaching are educational and supportive services. They are not occupational therapy sessions and do not establish a therapy-client relationship.
If therapy or a formal evaluation is needed, we can help you think through next steps and appropriate referrals.
No. These services are open to all parents and educators, whether or not a child has a diagnosis.
Many families reach out when they’re still in the “I’m not sure what’s going on” stage, and that’s completely okay. We are here to help you figure out what is going on and how to best move forward.
No. You do not need to be receiving therapy with us. These services are available to any parent or teacher seeking guidance and support.
We can help you clarify your concerns, review recommendations or reports, and discuss whether an occupational therapy evaluation may be helpful.
However, consultations do not replace a formal evaluation or diagnosis. If an evaluation is appropriate, we can guide you in deciding what type and where to pursue it.
Each session is collaborative and tailored to your needs. We may:
Clarify your concerns and goals
Review evaluations, school reports, or recommendations
Discuss sensory, regulation, attention, or daily routine challenges
Outline practical next steps
Help you feel more confident about your options
Our goal is for you to leave with clarity and direction — not more overwhelm.
Parent coaching is designed to support you — the parent.
Rather than focusing on “fixing” a child’s behavior, coaching helps you parent in a way that feels aligned with your values, your goals, and the kind of relationship you want to build with your child.
Sessions may include:
Clarifying your parenting values and long-term vision
Responding to big emotions and meltdowns in ways that feel grounded and consistent
Navigating power struggles and boundary-setting
Supporting regulation while maintaining connection
Building routines that reflect your family’s needs
Processing school feedback or outside recommendations
Strengthening your confidence in your instincts
Coaching is collaborative and reflective. We explore what’s happening, consider the developmental lens, and identify practical strategies that feel realistic for your family.
Parent coaching does not include direct treatment of the child, formal evaluation, or medical or psychological therapy. If additional services are recommended, we can help you determine appropriate next steps.
Consultations, coaching, and sensory space design services are private pay and are not billed through insurance.
Sessions are offered virtually, allowing families and educators anywhere to access support.
Sensory space design services may include virtual planning and guidance, with in-person options available locally.
These services are designed to provide guidance, education, and support. They are not a substitute for medical care, therapy, or formal evaluation when those services are indicated.
If a higher level of care is needed, we will help you identify appropriate next steps.
